Frequently Asked Questions

How can I reach you?

You can contact us by calling (260) 424-9642, emailing poweryogafw@gmail.com or DMing us via Instagram (@poweryogafortwayne). If we are not available immediately, we will always do our best to get back to you as soon as possible.

Do I need to sign up for class in advance?

We highly recommend it! You can sign up prior to class through the Momence system or our website. This not only makes for a smoother transition at the front desk, but if a class changes or must be cancelled, you will be notified. If you can’t preregister, you can still come and in and check in at the front desk.

What do I need to bring with me?

You’ll want to bring your own yoga mat. We offer Bmats for use if needed. We also have mats for sale ranging from $20 - $114 depending on brand and style. If you go out to buy one, prioritize one with a grip and one that isn’t too thick. We strongly discourage use of the thick pads made for gym floors.

All classes are done barefoot. Yoga socks with a grip are also welcome.

We have blocks, bolsters and straps available for public use. You are welcome to bring props from home if you’d like for your practice.

There is a water dispenser available to our clients. Please feel free to fill up your water bottle.

We also have mat cleaner spray available to use.

We do have a restroom for our clients. You are welcome to use the restroom to change clothes before or after class.

On your first visit, you’ll want to arrive at least 5-10 minutes before class starts so we can show you around quickly. We strongly encourage you to sign up via the website beforehand. This will make for a smoother process when you arrive.

WHAT IF I AM LATE?

Should you be late please register in advance and call the studio to let them know you’re coming. Please enter class quietly…respect your neighbor and their practice.

I have never practiced yoga before. Can I still come to class?

Of course!  We have made the names and class descriptions new student friendly so you can find a class appropriate to your level. We encourage all those new to yoga to check out Slow Flow and Restorative classes. Please get to class 5-10 minutes early to inform the instructor of any injuries or limitations.  We also have private lessons available, which are a great way for beginners to feel more confident before joining group classes.

Do you sell workout supplies at PYFW?

Yes, we sell clothing, yoga mats, yoga supplies, and other lifestyle accessories at the studio.

Do you sell GIFT CARDS at PYFW?

How can I pay for classes and/or supplies?

You can pay online or at our front desk via cash, card, check, or Venmo before or after class.

Where are you located?

We are located in the heart of our downtown near Anthis Career Center and the Post Office. Our door is in the back of the building directly off the parking lot, along the Douglas Ave. side.

Do you offer classes online?

Yes - Pre Registration is required. To register, go to our website and click on the class you want. Any class offering a zoom option will say “LIVESTREAM”. Be sure to choose the correct option. This will take you through creating an account, signing the waiver, making payment and enrolling. You cannot book/reserve a spot for another person, each client must register separately with unique contact info.

Can I fill out the release in advance?

Yes! You can fill it out in Momence while making your profile.

My Momence account says I owe money or won’t let me register for classes but I already paid.

Every once in a while there is a hiccup in the Momence system or a user error. Simply come into the studio before class 5 -10 minutes before the start of class for help or email us at poweryogafw@gmail.com

Is there a minimum age to attend PYFW yoga classes?

As long as your child is not disruptive to the class and quietly remains on their mat, any age is welcome.  All minors (under 18) must have a parent waiver signed prior to practicing (the parent or guardian must sign the waiver in person at a studio).

DO YOU OFFER KIDS YOGA CLASSES?

Not at this time.

DO YOU OFFER PRENATAL YOGA CLASSES?

Not at this time. However, all of our instructors are trained in prenatal contradictions and can offer you modifications for poses. Please always consult your physician before beginning any new exercise during pregnancy.

What if I have an injury?

A: You are not alone. Many of us are coming to yoga after sustaining injuries in order to build strength and rehabilitate our bodies. First of all, check with the appropriate medical professionals to make sure that yoga is safe for you and inquire whether there are certain types of movements that you should avoid. You are always welcome to inform the instructor before class of your specific injury and possible limitations. We love to know those things and will help you as best we can, however, we are not physicians or physical therapists. Keep in mind that our studio classes are group classes, so every instructor is working to provide a balanced class for all in attendance. Therefore, we encourage all of our students to listen to their bodies. Students are encouraged to modify or skip poses if necessary and to take breaks as often as they need. If you would like to learn specific modifications for your injury we highly recommend taking a private session or two, then you can take those modifications into your next group class.

How do I cancel my membership?

Our front desk team will be happy to help and may even have suggestions on how to get the most out of your yoga journey. For cancellations, we do require you email poweryogafw@gmail.com 3 DAYS (72 HOURS) before your upcoming billing date. Failure to cancel before the 3 DAY window will result in a monthly charge. Monthly AUTO-RENEW charges are NON-REFUNDABLE.

Q: Can I cancel a workshop I signed up for?

A: Workshops can be fully refunded if canceled 24 hours after purchase. After this time, you will be fully charged for the workshop. Workshop reservations can be cancelled 24 hours before the set start time, a credit for the amount paid will be applied to your account for future workshops.
